Chevalier's Books and poet Brendan Constantine present an evening of poetry from three exciting authors. Alexis Rhone Fancher continues her tour for 'Junkie Wife' (2018 Moon Tide Press), Sonia Greenfield will present selections from her award winning collections and (I'm hoping!!!) a peek at her forthcoming book 'Letdown.' Eric Morago rounds out the evening with an introduction to the NEW Moon Tide Press and (he BETTER) read from his latest, top secret project. Signing and lite reception to follow. BE THERE!!!
Alexis Rhone Fancher is published in Best American Poetry 2016, Verse Daily, Plume, Rattle, The American Journal of Poetry, Diode, Tinderbox, Nashville Review, HOBART, and elsewhere. She’s the… author of four poetry collections, including How I Lost My Virginity to Michael Cohen and other heart stab poems, (2014), State of Grace: The Joshua Elegies, (2015), Enter Here, (2017), and Junkie Wife — from which she’ll be reading tonight — the twisted tale of Alexis’s first, doomed marriage, just published by Eric Morago at Moon Tide Press. A multiple Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee, Alexis is poetry editor of Cultural Weekly.
Sonia Greenfield was born and raised in Peekskill, New York, and her book, Boy with a Halo at the Farmer's Market, won the 2014 Codhill Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in a variety of places, including in the 2018 and 2010 Best American Poetry, Bellevue Literary Review, Los Angeles Review, Massachusetts Review, and Willow Springs. Her chapbook, American Parable, won the 2017 Autumn House Press/Coal Hill Review prize and is currently available. Her collection of prose poems, Letdown, is forthcoming in 2020 with White Pine Press as part of the Marie Alexander Series. She lives with her husband and son in Hollywood where she edits the Rise Up Review and directs the Southern California Poetry Festival.
Eric Morago is a Pushcart Prize nominated poet who believes performance carries as much importance on the page as it does off. He is the author of What We Ache For and Feasting on Sky. Currently Eric hosts a monthly reading series, teaches writing workshops, and is editor-in-chief and publisher of Moon Tide Press. He has an MFA in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach, and lives in Los Angeles.
