Following in the steps of its cousin Almost, Maine, LOVE/SICK tells 9 different stories where the woes of love take the forefront. Misery loves company as the characters of LOVE/SICK try to make sense of life after love.
CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
NOTE: All races, genders, sexual orientations, ages, etc. are encouraged to audition.
Actors must be comfortable with all types of intimacy (same-sex, hetero, etc.)
All actors in the show will be double or triple cast.
Actors auditioning for the part of the Singing Telegram Man will be asked to sing Happy Birthday a cappella.
WOMAN (F, 20s — 30s) a woman who fights her impulses decently well. (Must be comfortable with physical intimacy)
MAN (M, 20s — 30s) a man who fights his impulses slightly better than well. (Must be comfortable with physical intimacy)
“THE SINGING TELEGRAM”
SINGING TELEGRAM MAN (M, 20s — 30s) a kind hearted person who’s enthusiastic about his line of work. (Must be able to sing well)
LOUISE OVERBEE (F, 30s — 40s) a woman madly, desperately in love.
BEN (M, 20s – 30s) a guy who’s terrified he might be in love, eager to take a leap of faith (Must be comfortable with same-sex intimacy)
ANDY (M, 30s) a guy who’s really terrified of love, and eagerness, and leaps of faith, and of anything really. (Must be comfortable with same-sex intimacy)
CELIA (F, 30s – 50s) a woman who knows what she wants, definitely, for sure.
KEITH (M, 30s – 50s) a man who knows what he wants, for sure, definitely.
SARAH (F, 20s – 30s) a woman who has questions, a lot of questions.
BILL (M, 20s -30s) a guy who’s perfectly content with life but maybe not the present situation.
“LUNCH AND DINNER”
KELLY (F, 30s – 50s) a woman who’s one half of the strongest power couple, 7 years strong. (Actors must be comfortable appearing in their underwear.)
MARK (M, 30s – 50s) a man who’s one half of the strongest power couple, 7 years strong. (Actors must be comfortable appearing in their underwear.)
JILL (F, 30s – 50s) a woman who is reminded she wanted more than she currently has.
KEVIN (M, 30s – 50s) a man who is happy with what he currently has.
“WHERE WAS I?”
ABBIE (F, 20s — 30s) a woman, an expert in finding things, who is searching for something. (Must be comfortable with same-sex intimacy)
LIZ (F, 20s — 30s) a woman who’s not sure she’s found what she is looking for anymore. (Must be comfortable with same-sex intimacy)
JAKE (M, 30s – 50s) a man who is recently divorced.
WOMAN (F, 30s – 50s) a woman who is recently divorced.
