Taller Younger Brother and Westerly are bringing their bay area rock n' roll to Los Angeles. Locals Noa Zimmerman and Nova Darlings will be opening and headlining respectively!

The Nova Darlings:
The carrot-wielding, cross-dressing indie rockers that comprise the Nova Darlings will leave your job dropped open, your socks rocked off, and heart filled up. Gnashing their teeth and bearing their hearts on their sleeves, the edy groove-sters are equal parts violent and tender. Think about them like those four kids you knew in middle school, but didn’t know know. The kids that sat alone on the bus with their iPods. Those kids started a band. Harkening back to the 90’s disaffected guitar sound of artists like Built to Spill and Elliott Smith, the Novas evoke strains of the eclectic. A sugared folk melody will find it’s way buried in a James Brown-esque, psych-rock drum beat. Drawing from early 2000’s bands like The Shins, The Strokes, and The Postal Service, the Darlings will bring you something that fits in your childhood bedroom or your parent’s garage, but will slam you with echoes from your mom’s record collection and catapult you sweetly into cosmic nothingness. The four best friends take the suburban sound, fuse it with a melancholic and spiritual absurdism that’s sure to get your feet bumbling to let the ya-ya’s out and a window open in your heart to let the air out. You can throw them on your Spotify playlist in between Pinegrove and Car Seat Headrest. All your friends will be like, “Who the fuck are these guys?” But, like, in a good way. They’ll slow dance with you in a supermarket. They’ll walk your dog for you. They might scrape up your knees, but they’ll also give you a band-aid and a funny story about their grandma or something.

Taller Younger Brother (Oakland, Ca):
Taller Younger Brother is a four piece post-americana band playing story-driven rock n' roll. They have been likened to Delta Spirit, Built to Spill, and The Mountain Goats. TYB began as the singer-songwriter project of Kyle Glenn, but has evolved into a full fledged collaboration with Steve Sarmiento (lead guitar), Riki Newton (drums), and Connor Bennette (bass). Their varied geographic origins and musical backgrounds create an original sound all their own. TYB is celebrating the release of their second EP on this tour.

Westerly (Berkeley, Ca):
Westerly has been playing in the Bay Area for two years and has headlined the Amnesia in San Francisco, Armando’s in Martinez, and been played on KPFA’s “The Hear and Now” and KALX’s “The Next Big Thing.” Their last album “Fire in the Evergreens” was reviewed by Divide and Conquer who said, “[Westerly's] sound has a very modern relevant feel to it that takes the best parts of folk and mixes it with the spirit of genres like rock and punk that ultimately make it a rare but needed perspective in the music scene.” Reminiscent of the hard luck storytelling of Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen's tarnished spiritual imagery, Westerly writes American folk rock for the new era.

Noa Zimmerman:
Noa Zimmerman is a 19 year-old singer/songwriter from San Francisco, California. When she was 14 she self-produced her first album, and has since released four more with the help of SoundWire Productions. You can find her three most recent albums including her new album, 'On the Bright Side of Oblivion' on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and other major online music vendors. She is currently a freshman at USC's Thornton School of Music, double-majoring in Popular Music for Songwriting and Music Production. In addition to the work she's done with her own music, Noa also founded a non-profit music organization called Soundwaves: Marin City Youth Music Academy. Soundwaves provides free music lessons and instruments to underprivileged kids in Marin City, California. Noa was awarded the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership's Heart of Marin Youth Volunteer of the Year Award in 2017 for her work with Soundwaves. Noa continues to be involved with this program, while also pursuing her degree as well as other projects including upcoming musical releases and Criminal Probe, a weekly free-form podcast.
