Join us for an evening of advocacy for DACA youth and all immigrant dreamers, Tuesday, 1/23/18, 7pm, outside the Brea district office of Rep. Ed Royce. At the event, we will:
— Hear stories from Dreamers and other immigrants
— Pray with clergy, lay faithful, and all people of faith and good will
— Call upon legislators, particularly Catholic Representatives Ed Royce, Lou Correa, and Mimi Walters, to protect DACA youth and pass the Dream Act now.
— Urge elected leaders to set aside hyper-partisanship and hear the voice of people of faith calling attention to the life and dignity of immigrants.

In the meantime, please call and write your member of Congress to urge them to publicly support Dreamers and pass the Dream Act to protect these young people and their families. More at: rcbo.org/immigrationministry

From the OC Bishops' recent Advent Letter:

«The present moment in time is a critical opportunity to stand with Dreamers. 'Dreamers' refers to immigrant youths brought to the U.S. as children by their parents without legal documentation. The current administration has eliminated the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program thereby removing protections (that begin expiring March 5, 2018) for nearly 800,000 young people who live next door, work with us, and worship alongside us at church.»

«We write to ask you to express love in a concrete way...in two
— First, please pray for DACA Youth, Dreamers, and all immigrants who come to Orange County from every corner of the globe.
— Second, please contact your member of Congress and urge them to publicly support Dreamers and pass the DREAM Act to protect these young people and their families.»
