Down To The River
Saturday, September 23rd | 7pm-9pm
Marsh Park in Frogtown
2944 Gleneden St, Los Angeles, CA 90039
Join us for our annual pilgrimage down to the LA River. When you enter the park, you will have the opportunity to engage in our interactive art installations from Jonathan Skurnik & Reboot. Reflect on the year past and years to come with our Time Capsule Booth and Mirror Booth.
Live jazz music by the Brendan Eder Ensemble will welcome you and set the mood for the evening. Grab a dinner plate of delicious food from Dune, and a glass of wine from our wide selection.
Sit on the lawn with friends old and new as we begin our evening with an exercise lead by Michael Kass. Starting our journey along the path of starting anew, he guides us into a deeper state of presence in the space and, from that, into deeper connection with each other.
The evening continues with a story from Ari Skye, who started Courage Bagels from her home kitchen, and how the venture gave her the courage to find her calling. Then a shofar experience with Michael Gropper, where we will dive into the symbolism and spirituality of our ancient instrument.
We shift our focus back to ritual with Manda Jill Graizel, then Michael Kass returns to bring us back together and lead us Down to the River for the Tashlich ceremony. Our event will conclude with Havdalah and song
Food and wine are included in ticket price. This event is 21+.
This is the 2nd of our three part event series for the Jewish High Holidays that we call Days Of Awesome.
