It's almost time for Westwood Pilates to celebrate our 4 year Anniversary with our annual fundraiser Rocking for a Cause! Take Pilates sessions, receive special gifts from our sponsors, and more! All proceeds will go to The People Concern (formerly known as OPCC). We offer classes all morning inside in the studio, and we have refreshments and giveaways outside in the parking lot. It's always nice to get a chance to socialize with our Pilates friends and we would love it if you could join us, celebrate, and share your love for Pilates to help us raise money!
OPCC/The People Concern is a non-profit organization headquartered in Santa Monica. OPCC provides highly effective, fully integrated services to the post traumatized, vulnerable and needy members of our community — homeless individuals, victims of domestic violence, at-risk youth, indigent Veterans, and people dealing with severe physical or mental illness and/or substance abuse.
Over the course of 2014 and 2015, Westwood Pilates storefront was repeatedly vandalized by a mentally ill transient man. This inspired us to create Rocking for a Cause in 2015, and we are now honored to announce that our studio has recently achieved membership within The People Concern's Empowerment Circle this year for our continued support!
Last year, we raised over $3600, and this year, our goal is to raise $4000 for The People Concern!
This year's schedule of classes include Pilates session from our studio teachers, our teaching apprentices, as well as visiting instructors! Check out our most updated full schedule in our Eventbrite link. (Schedule subject to change without notice).
We are excited to welcome HESPERA Jewelry Company to the event from 10:30am — 12:30pm. Shop during these hours at discounted prices just for Rocking for a Cause.
In addition, win raffle prizes from our sponsors, including gift cards and goodies from Beaming, Pilatesology, Hespera, and Pilates Nerd! It's an opportunity you don't want to miss!
A special thank you to our sponsors, Starbucks Coffee and Whole Foods Market! Enjoy free coffee, refreshments, and healthy snacks after your workout.
We will also be selling His and Her Tanks at the event for $25. All proceeds from the T-shirt sales will go directly to The People Concern.
The People Concern is also seeking donations for men and women’s underwear (especially L, XL and XXL). Other items include socks and travel size toiletries. New items only please! We will have a basket out this month and also during the event so that you can drop off your donations.
Thank you for your support towards our community, and we look forward to seeing you all there!
