It's August and summer is almost gone!!! Well, is summer ever really gone in Southern California??

Please join us for The Burrito Project on Thursday, August 17th, 2017. We are meeting at the St Joseph's Food Bank Kitchen in South Pasadena on the North-East corner of Fremont Avenue & Oak Street.

We also have a family friendly Baseball For Burritos Fundraiser at Dodger's Stadium, in the «All You Can Eat» Coca-Cola Pavillion.

Saturday, August 12 — Dodger's Vs The Padres:

NOTE: There is a LOT of information packed into this event invitation. If you read it all the way through, I'm sure most of your questions will be answered. If I missed something, please message me and I'll answer your question(s). =)

This is our burrito project celebrating AUGUST, summer sun and the last days of summer vacation!

The Burrito Project allows us to share some happiness with our neighbors who are living on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles.

This event is FREE, but I have provided a link for «tickets» to make it easy for you to share a $10 donation.

Giving the gift of food, clean water and clothing to people in need is a noble gift that seems to enhance the life of both the giver and receiver. Many people have come to me after The Burrito Project and shared that they feel they received way more than they gave during this night of sharing. (I hope you can write about your burrito project experience so we can share it on our website). To read what some volunteers have shared, please visit:

I invite you to join us for our June Burrito Project Event. Please help us wrap delicious goodness into a tortilla. The evenings are perfect for a walk in downtown Los Angeles. Be a hero with a burrito. =)

The Burrito Project is a group of really cool & groovy people (like YOU) who get together & make burritos. Once the burritos are made, we deliver the burritos along with bottled water, clothing & toiletry kits to the hungry & homeless in downtown LA.

We gather on the THIRD Thursday evening of the month.

THIS month we will be back at our home base in SOUTH PASADENA at the St. Joseph's Food Bank (Across the street from Holy Family Catholic Church). There is ample parking accessed from Oak Street.

We start gathering between 6:30-7:30 so we can prepare the kitchen & start warming up the 750+ tortillas needed for the night. Join us for light snacks, a burrito, beverages & conversation.

We officially start the «festivities» about 7:30pm.

The Burrito Project has 2 main Phases. You are invited to join us for Phase 1, Phase 2 or BOTH for the Full Burrito Project Experience.

PRE-PHASE — 6:00pm-7:30pm
* Gathering food donations, preparing the facility and warming tortillas.
PHASE 1 — 7:30pm-8:30pm
* Warming tortillas, cooking, assembling burritos, sorting clothing, Clean Up.

PHASE 2 — 8:30pm-10:30pm
* Delivery of burritos, bottled water, clothing, etc. to the homeless in Downtown Los Angeles. We walk a predesignated route in a large group.
* Delivery can go late if we start late (depending on how quickly we clean up the kitchen facility). Delivery usually goes quicker when we have a large group to help hand out all of our items.
* We have finished as early as 10:15pm but have also gone as late as 11:30pm.

#1 — You MUST have fun, smile & make new friends while making Burritos.
#2 — Please invite OTHER Cool & Groovy People to join in on this fun & worthwhile service project.
#3 — Please bring a $10 donation (or more if you're feeling EXTRA generous) to help offset the cost of the Burrito Ingredients.
#4 — When we are done making & wrapping burritos, (and cleaning up the kitchen) we carpool/caravan to the «distribution location(s)» in downtown LA & Pasadena area.
#5 — Become a FAN of the «Burrito Project South Pasadena» so you will be informed of cool events going on:

Timeout Los Angeles consistently ranks participating in a burrito project in the top 20 of their «101 things to do in Los Angeles,» their essential guide to the best things to do in LA. Come join us and you'll understand why. =)

We started this burrito project chapter in South Pasadena in November 2009. We have been serving Los Angeles and the surrounding area consistently every 3rd Thursday for the past 6 years. We have made over 111,000 burritos since we started and have delivered thousands of bottles of water. Come join us and see what all the talk is about. PLEASE NOTE: We will be meeting at our home base in SOUTH PASADENA (instead of our Lincoln Heights location).

We are GUESTS of the St. Joseph's Center, so this is generally a 21 & over event. If you would like to participate & you or your guest are under the age of 21, please contact me directly & we can discuss the details. Thank you.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday the 17th of August. I really appreciate your time. Please bring your ENERGY, Smile & ANY donation you feel inspired to give. Your donation helps to offset the cost of blankets, socks, gloves, beanies, bottled water, tortillas, salsa & other burrito ingredients. Thank you.

Please RSVP so I can provide enough beverages and snacks. You are also welcome to enjoy a yummy burrito for a dinner snack and donate your dinner money to: The Burrito Project. (This idea came from one of our volunteers).

ALSO, remember to wear comfortable shoes (preferably closed toe) and to dress appropriately for the weather. Sunner is here but the evenings can cool down quickly!

Thank you!
