5:30-6:30pm: Docents from the Santa Monica Conservancy available at the Marion Davies Guest House to discuss the history of the Beach House site.

6:30-7:30pm: Reading with Amy Hassinger, Ellen Meeropol, Peggy Shumaker and Lena Khalaf Tuffaha, with dance by Sheetal Gandhi

Explore the power of words to change the world with big stories about family, the environmental story of the planet, and about the lives of women. Imagine a world of dams bursting, bears in the Alaska dawn, plants taking over the room, and refugees searching for peace.

— Check out other Beach=Culture events this summer at the Annenberg Community Beach House, including the «Out of the Blue» series. All events listed at or follow the Beach House Facebook event page. «Out of the Blue» is a series of creative projects which showcase artmaking in action. Each month this summer, artists will be working onsite, and all are welcome to stop by to view their process and periodically take part. Events this summer include members of the conductorless chamber music ensemble Kaleidoscope in an open string quartet rehearsal June 20-22, a monster vacation with artists Beck + Col July 17-21, and a cardboard yacht project with sculptor Kiel Johnson August 11-18.

Tickets are free but space is limited and reservations are required. Arrive by 15 min before start time to retain your reservation. Late seating, even for reservation-holders, is not guaranteed. Getting Here: The Beach House is located at 415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica, CA 90402 on the west side of Pacific Coast Highway. Enter off PCH at the Beach House Way traffic light.

Parking: The parking rate is Apr — Oct: $12/day or $3/hour; Nov — Mar: $8/day or $3/hour, payable at the park and pay machines in three areas of the ACBH parking lot. Credit cards or exact change only. Handicapped placards and Senior Beach Permits are accepted. For other parking info and lot hours, please check the website for details.
