A sleeper hit if there ever was one, this modest comedy raised some eyebrows when it hit cinemas, but really found its mark on home video and cable airings, where a cult of fans quickly formed and took the «Vote for Pedro» tee-shirt all the way to the shelves of Hot Topic… In small-town Preston, Idaho, awkward teen Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) has trouble fitting in. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico (Jon Gries), shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro (Efren Ramirez), a shy Hispanic boy who speaks little English, yet is determined to win the heart of his popular blonde classmate. Together the two launch a campaign to have Pedro run for class president, leading to one of cinema's greatest — and most unexpected — dance routines…
