Red Mandala was formed in early 2017 by accomplished composer Terence Jay and musician Tyler Carlisle. Jay is best known for having scored and/or contributed songs to films such as Punisher Warzone, Buried Alive, and Organism, along with the popular song, One Blood, featured in the cult film Green Street Hooligans.
Inspired by the rarity of the relatively new instrument, the Handpan, invented in 2000, Jay set out to become one of the few builders in the world. Impressed by Tyler Carlisle’s technique and style of playing, in late 2016 Jay asked him to join in on his project marrying film composition and word music and Red Mandala was born. Currently in the studio, Red Mandala is planning on releasing their first EP by the end of 2017 titled “The Elements”.
