Costume College® is an annual three-day costuming arts conference produced by Costumer’s Guild West, Inc. We offer lectures, workshops and demos on all things costuming: from general sewing (pattern grading, setting sleeves, etc.) to historical construction methods (corsetry, petticoats, etc.) to time period overview classes to science fiction/fantasy costume construction. All of our classes are taught by volunteers who enjoying sharing their knowledge on a particular topic.
Costume College® 2017 will be held July 27 – 31, 2017, at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, California.
Monday 7/31 is available for those who want to go to the Los Angeles Garment/Fashion District to shop. (We do offer a Guided Tour on Monday as part of our Limited Class Offerings — for more information, please see 18.104.22.168/

The 2017 theme is “The 60s.”
The 1960’s: It’s more than just “Mad Men. It’s a huge era of change that bridges the conservative 50s with the psychedelic fantasy of the 70s. And don’t forget fashion icons like Jackie Kennedy and Oleg Cassini. The roots of television science fiction in Star Trek and Dark Shadows; or Mod and the British Fashion invasion.
The bonus track of classes for 2017 is “Understructures of the Costume.” Remember that the bonus track is in addition to all the other costuming, research and sewing classes we offer from all time periods.

Along with the opportunity to learn new skills, we offer our members several social gatherings to show off their creations! We host a Pool Party, a Friday Social, a Gala Dinner & Dance, and an Afternoon Tea (the Gala and the Tea each have a separate admission).
We also have a Marketplace filled with fabulous vendors who cater to costumers and an Exhibit Room filled with costumes created by our members. Both of these events are free to the public. (Attendance to Classes require registration for the event and payment of registration fees.)
