Groove and dance the Cuban way from a true master and Cuban native, overlooking the ocean in the beautiful Camera Obscura space. Join our vibrant community and enjoy your progress! This class differentiates for different levels of dancers, all are welcome. Dance and have fun with or without a partner: Kati breaks down authentic, fun moves to help you bring flavor to your social dance. Attend not only to learn Casino (Cuban style salsa) moves and turns — Kati and her partners also focus on generally-applicable leading and following techniques, as well as conveying the essence of Casino. Leave with a sense of true Cuban musicality as well as practical dance drills that will help you grow as a dancer in this complex and beautiful form. Kati trains some of the top Casino dance teams in the USA.

Train/Bus: Metro terminus at 4th St/Colorado, 4 blocks away. Upon exiting the station go west on Colorado to Ocean Ave, cross the street to the Pier and go north in the park just past Broadway. metro.net/
Parking: Parking Structure 6 (1431 2nd Street between Broadway and Santa Monica): Free-$17.50. Weekends, Civic Auditorium lot at 1855 Main S is $5 all day except during special events. Pier Deck: $10-15/day; Beach Lot 1N just north of the Pier $6-12/day. Meters on Ocean Avenue; $2/hr maximum 3 hours. More info: smgov.net/parking
Bike: Ride your bike (bring a lock) or utilize the Breeze Bike Share corral just south of us in the park.
Registration: We encourage reserving online with a credit card. Some classes accept drop-ins. Bring cash please.
About: Visit the Camera Obscura Art Lab at 1450 Ocean to get a different perspective. The City of Santa Monica offers arts, crafts and culture classes for adults here year-round, and you can polish your writing, take a better photo, learn how to make paper, get your groove on and find a community of makers and movers. Weekly hangouts with artists through the ongoing Studio Residency program as well as workshops and one-off experiences bring insight into a variety of artistic work. This community practice space offers room for you to develop your own creativity and learn from others.
